    JUST IN: NIGERIA FLOUR MILLS, GASLAND NIGERIA PLC DONATE ITEMS WORTH SEVERAL MILLIONS OF NAIRA TO OYO STATE GOVERNMENT

    As part of measures to ensure that the masses get palliatives to cushion the effect of Covid-19, and the burden of such palliatives does not rest on the shoulders of the Oyo state governor alone, more individuals and organizations are donating food items, beverages among others to the Oyo state government.

    The latest is that of the Nigerian Flour mills which donated items ranging from four thousand golden penny mills and three thousand noodles, which was valued at 18 million naira(Eighteen million naira).


    In the same vein Gasland Nigeria Plc also donated, one hundred bags of rice, two hundred bags of garri and one hundred and fifty packs of noodles valued at Seven million, Seven hundred and twenty-five thousand naira (#7,725,000), also the Nigerian bottling company donated 700 table waters and 100 Carbonated soft drinks, valued at Six hundred and fifteen thousand, eight hundred and ninety eight naira (#615,898) to support the operations of the quarantine centres.

    The Executive Adviser on Agribusiness, Dr. Debo Akande appreciated the donors for the palliatives stimulus donated to the state in order to ease the economic hardship on the people of the state.

    He assured that the relief materials donated would be properly accounted for as soon as the pandemic has been contained.

    The representative of the the donors, Mr kafaru Mukaila, took time to commend the state for the steps taken to curb the spread of the novel Covid-19 virus and encouraged all Nigerian to stay safe and continue to adhere to the necessary protective measures against the virus and diseases.
