The Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal has declared that the state government is trying to rejuvenate market system of the state through construction of market with modern facilities in urban centers and rural communities.
Lawal stated this at the inauguration of ultra-modern Kajola market, constructed by the Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso South local government, Hon Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy.
The Acting Governor, who expressed present administration’s readiness to liberalize economy of the zone, charged Chairman of the local government to make appropriate application for extension of the market.
In his welcome address, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Ademola Ojo, said the market that was built to enhance business activities must be well managed and maintained.
Speaking with newsmen, Chairman, Ogbomoso South Local Government area, Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy, who labelled the project as phase one, promised to be fair in allocation of the market especially to people whose shops were demolished during construction.
In his goodwill message, Òǹpetu of Ìjérù Kingdom, Oba Sunday Oyediran, who commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the landmark project, charged elites and influencers of Ògbòmọ́ṣọ̀ to use their position and connection to facilitate development of their locality.
The ultra-modern Kajola market project has 120 lock up shop, 80 stalls, abattoir, administrative block and toilets.
