The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of three staff members of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, CRIN, while inspecting crops on a farm within the institute’s premises.



The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka in a statement, said the command immediately commenced intensive efforts following the report of the incident, with the aim of securing the safe release of the victims and apprehending the perpetrators.


The command said a manhunt has been launched for the kidnappers, while tactical and operational teams are currently working to locate the victims and bring those responsible for the abduction to justice.




The Police urged members of the public with credible information that could assist the ongoing operation to report to the nearest police station or contact the command through its established emergency channels.


The command assured residents that every necessary measure is being taken to resolve the situation and ensure the safe return of the abducted CRIN workers.
