    JUST IN:COAS Commissions Multiple Projects in Owena Barracks

    The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, today, thursday 2 July 2020 Commissioned various landmark projects within Owena Military Cantonment, Akure.
    At the ceremony the Chief of Army Staff was ably represented by General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Maj Gen Anthony Bamidele Omozoje.


    The ceremony commence by the unveiling of Headquarters 32 Artillery Brigade Complex, and the representative of the Chief of Army Staff then proceeded to commission Guard House at Gate 3 of the Cantonment, then the commissioning of Corporal below Quarters. The representative of the Chief of Army then proceeded to lay foundation of Barrack Initiative Investment Programme ( Poultry Farm).


    The commissioning climaxed when Maj Gen AB Omozoje commissioned the 32 Artillery Brigade Medical Centre projects.
    The event was witnessed by The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN ably represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Ipedayo Abegunde, The State Liaison Officer on Military Relations, Hon Olugbenga Atiba, The Akure based chief Philanthropist Mr Bibopere Ayube, The State Coordinator Defence Intelligence Agency, Akure Cell, Mrs FO Amao, Chairman Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, Hon. Olugbega Edema, Deputy Controller of Corrections Mr Oyewole C.A ably representing The Controller of Corrections, Ondo State Command, The Registrar, Elizade University, Mr Omololu Adegbenro ably representing the Founder of the University. The Deputy Director Department of State Services Ondo State, Mr Victor Edet ably representing the State Director, The State Commander, Nigeria Drugs Law Enforcement Agency Ondo State Command, Mr HA Garage, The Deputy Controller of Prisons Mr Monday B Kuryas fsi ably representing the Controller of Prisons Ondo State Command, Brig Gen Joe Komolafe (Rtd), The Commandant, Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps Ondo State Command, Mr Philip Ayuba among other senior officers.
    The commissioning was part of the commemoration of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2020.

    These projects were initiated by the Commander 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Brigadier General ZL Abubakar. The Commissioned projects will improve the combat readiness of the troops and their welfare.
    Maj Gen AB Omozoje assured the troops the renewed vigour and determination of the Chief of Army Staff to tackle the welfare challenges of the troops. The General Officer Commanding 2 Division further advised the troops to remain loyal and dedicated to their professional responsibilities.

    Maj Gen Omozoje maintained that enhancing the welfare of Officers and men of the Nigerian Army was among the cardinal objectives of the administration of the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, aimed at boosting troops morale. The General Officer Commanding 2 Division further explained that renovation and reconstruction of decent accommodation for Officers and men is ongoing in barracks in 2 Division.

    Maj Gen Omozoje urged Officers and men of the Division to reciprocate the gesture by being committed and dedicated selflessly and professionally with the aim of achieving the set objectives of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai. And, during the occasion, The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN delivered a speech praising the efforts of the Nigerian Army.

    Philanthropist Bibopere Ayube gave the sum of N10 million naira (₦10,000000.00) to the widows of our fallen heroes.

    The General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen AB Omozoje on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai appreciated His Excellencies the Executive Governors of Ekiti State and Ondo State respectively, Philanthropist Bibopere Ayube, friends of the Brigade for their tireless contribution and support to the Brigade.
