JUST IN:Makinde Inspects Airport-Ajia Road Project, Says Government Yet to Pay a Dime to Contractor

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of job done so far at the ongoing Airport-Ajia, Spur Amuloko- New Ife Express Road.

Makinde stated this on Monday during the on the spot assessment of the road project.

The Governor noted that the project was facilitated through the Alternative Project Funding Approach. He stressed that the State Government hasn’t paid any amount to the Contractor.

His words: Well, I think we got it right by the Alternative Funding Approach, the government has not paid a dime, we have issued the Payment Standing Order, but we haven’t put in any money.”

“You can see the extent of work done so far, I think we got it right. Well, I am satisfied with the pace of work, I hope you are satisfied with the pace of work because you have seen it as well.

Recall the road was flagged-off in August 2020 and it is expected to be completed in August 2021.
