JUST IN:Makinde to Investigate Contractors Who Handled Oba Akinbiyi Model School Project

Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed displeasure over the structural defect and lack of basic social amenities at the Oba Akinbiyi model school which was commissioned about a year ago by the previous administration.

Governor Makinde who paid an assessment visit to the school, said having been inundated with several compliant concerning the many structural challenges affecting the building and its consequences, the visit became imperative

While lamenting the substandard materials used for the structure, Governor Makinde noted that despite reawarding the project with extra 400 million naira through direct labour after being revoked from the initial contractor, the previous administration had done a terrible job.

The Governor who was conducted around by the Principal Mrs Folashade Ayodele expressed concern for the safety of the students, and pledged to ensure thorough investigation as well as bringing to book all those culpable

The Oba Akinbiyi model school was one of the nine model schools project executed by former Governor Abiola Ajimobi towards the end of his administration in Oyo state.
