In Lagelu Local Government, where development once existed more in promise than in practice, one leader has turned aspiration into tangible results.

Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, who assumed office in 2023, has quietly reshaped the landscape of governance, proving that meaningful change often begins at the grassroots.

Kamorudeen’s approach is both pragmatic and people-centred. Roads that were once riddled with potholes and impassable during the rainy season now connect communities, markets, and schools, fostering commerce and mobility.

This infrastructure revival has not only eased daily life but has also invigorated local trade, restoring confidence in the local economy.

Education has been a key focus. Schools that had long been neglected have been renovated and equipped with teaching materials, providing students with safer, more productive learning environments.

Similarly, health centres that were previously dormant have been brought back into service, offering accessible and reliable care to residents. The visible improvements in these sectors signal a leadership that prioritises basic human needs over grandstanding.

Security, often a concern in the area, has also been addressed under Kamorudeen’s watch. The establishment of a functional Amotekun Corps base has enhanced community safety, enabling residents to feel protected while encouraging economic and social activity.

This quiet yet impactful focus on safety underscores Kamorudeen’s philosophy that governance should serve efficiently rather than theatrically.

Kamorudeen’s tenure is marked by consistency and an emphasis on results over rhetoric. Unlike predecessors, he inherited few ongoing projects, yet his administration has delivered a remarkable range of initiatives that touch every aspect of daily life in Lagelu. The improvements in infrastructure, social services, and public safety collectively contribute to a renewed sense of civic pride.

His leadership reflects a deep understanding of local needs and an ability to convert limited resources into meaningful change. Projects are meticulously planned and implemented with community consultation, ensuring that interventions are relevant and sustainable.

Roads are repaired with quality materials, schools receive durable furniture and learning aids, and health facilities are staffed and stocked adequately to meet genuine demand.

The success in Lagelu also demonstrates Kamorudeen’s alignment with broader state-level priorities. His work mirrors Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision of empowerment, accountability, and grassroots participation.

Mentorship and collaboration with experienced leaders such as Otunba Seye Famojuro have further strengthened his administration, providing guidance while preserving Kamorudeen’s independent, results-driven approach.

The outcomes speak louder than promises. Communities once resigned to neglect now witness active governance. Children attend school in safe, well-resourced classrooms; patients receive timely care at revitalised health centres; markets thrive on the back of improved infrastructure. Residents no longer speak of what government might do—they speak of what has been achieved.

Kamorudeen’s leadership demonstrates that even in smaller local governments, transformation is possible when vision is grounded in reality, informed by citizen needs, and executed with diligence.

His administration offers a replicable model for local governance: listening to the people, responding with practical solutions, and sustaining improvements through careful management.

Lagelu today stands as a testament to the power of focused leadership. Roads, schools, health facilities, and security initiatives collectively narrate a story of governance that respects its constituents, delivers results, and fosters renewed trust.

Under Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, development has shifted from abstract policy to visible, lived reality, proving that with clarity of purpose and commitment to the people, even a local government can set the standard for the entire state.
