Mudashiru Kamordeen Morenikeji (KAMORU)- a decent, dogged and dedicated social democratic advocate.

Born in Oyo and raised in Lagos State, Kamoru is a force for good; a compelling networker straddling many sociocultural and political divides.

He’s a man of humble birth- who, as a child, had the privilege of having grown up under the tutelage of parents, who by any standard were no individuals of humongous material means, but for whom love, hard work, and fairness to all, and fear of God, at all times, must take precedence over all things.

While being raised by his two parents in Lagos State, Kamoru became the youngest political organizer for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as ward youth leader, and later as zonal youth leader in Alimosho local government area of Lagos State.

Seeing education as the means of getting ahead, he moved back to Oyo for enrollment in higher education. He joined the Polytechnic Ibadan for his National Diploma (ND) program, and later enrolled at same institute for his Higher National Diploma (HND).

Kamoru’s life as student at the Polytechnic Ibadan was defined by activism and political engagement. He was, at the institute, a student community leader, an educator, political activist and organizer. With the conviction that a good life should be lived in service to others, Kamoru was at all times, on different occasion- on the frontline fighting for rights and welfare of many students at the Polytechnic Ibadan.

At the completion of his program from the Polytechnic Ibadan, he continued full fledged with his political sojourn that had spanned over two decades, and by 2019 he was appointed as Caretaker Secretary to Lagelu North Local Council Development Area, and later as Assistant Secretary in the ongoing elected administration in Lagelu local government.

He’s passionate about Nigeria, Oyo State, and Lagelu- and completely dedicated to the enhancement of the quality of politics and governance in these spaces.

He carries with him many bold ideas; superbly confident and self-assured. Bubbling with profound reformist ideas, Kamoru always feel that we all need to do our utmost best, from our little corners, to get the society working for all.

He is firm, has the courage of his conviction, and yet, very amiable. He’s a husband, and a father who dotted instinctively, not only on his family, but on all of the people who are privilege to work closely with him.

He’s a man who wants the best for everyone around him- a man of dignity and grace.

This April, he will be on ballot as Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagelu Local Government Area.
