A prominent political figure in Oyo State, Hon. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, popularly known as KSA, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the lingering internal crisis and growing uncertainty within the party as reasons for his decision.
KSA, who has remained an active grassroots politician and loyal party member over the years, disclosed that the current quagmire within the PDP has continued to send disturbing signals to committed members and stakeholders, making it increasingly difficult to remain hopeful about the future direction of the party.
According to him, the persistent internal wranglings, leadership concerns, and widening divisions among party stakeholders have created an atmosphere that no longer reflects the ideals and unity upon which the PDP was built.
While announcing his resignation, KSA noted that the decision was not taken in haste, stressing that he carefully reflected on the situation and consulted widely with political associates, supporters, and loyalists before arriving at the conclusion.
He expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, for the opportunity to serve and for the support extended to him during his time in the party.
KSA also thanked party leaders, elders, political associates, and faithful members of the PDP across Oyo State for the relationships, experiences, and moments shared over the years.
“I remain grateful to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, party leaders, and the entire PDP family for the support and cooperation enjoyed throughout my stay in the party.
However, the current realities and unresolved issues within the party have made it necessary for me to take this difficult but important decision,” he stated.
The resignation of the respected grassroots politician is already generating conversations within political circles in Oyo State, especially at a time when alignments and realignments are gradually shaping the political landscape ahead of future elections.
