The Konge’Re Vanguard has extended heartfelt congratulations to former Oyo State Deputy Governor, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, following his nomination as the Interim National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Arapaja’s appointment, along with other members of the Interim National Executive Committee, was affirmed during the 103rd Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting held yesterday in Abuja.
In a joint statement issued by the State Coordinator, Morufu Ahmed, and Publicity Secretary, Rafiu Muideen, the group described Arapaja’s emergence as a significant milestone for the State.
They noted that his extensive experience as a seasoned administrator and former Deputy Governor is precisely what the state requires at this critical juncture.
The Vanguard lauded the BoT, led by Senator Adolphus Wabara, for recognizing Arapaja’s capabilities but we realize that charity begins at home.
They however, appealed to the party leadership and Governor Seyi Makinde to leverage Arapaja’s vast political experience to ensure a total victory in the 2027 gubernatorial election in Oyo State.
According to the group, what’s uppermost in our mind now is how to maintain the legacy of the governor Seyi Makinde led government.
Arapaja is still very much in the race being the most experienced politician in governor Seyi Makinde camp.
“our goal is clear: we must retain Agodi Government House beyond 2027 to continue the progressive developmental agenda for the people of Oyo State”.
The group emphasized that retaining the seat which the party reclaimed in 2019, requires a “complete party man” with Arapaja’s pedigree.
By positioning him as a key successor to Governor Makinde, the Vanguard believes the PDP can maintain its momentum in the state.
Pledging their unwavering loyalty, the Konge’Re Vanguard vowed to continue supporting the party to ensure its progress and eventual triumph in the upcoming general elections.
