    Kunle Yusuff Leads Charge as Nigeria-China Relations Set to Thrive with Landmark Summit Planning

    The 10th National Assembly’s House of Representatives Committee on Nigeria-China Parliamentary Relations has officially inaugurated a Technical Planning Committee and appointed Merited Negotiation Consulting, led by Kunle Yusuff, to organize the Nigeria-China Sustainable Trade, Investment, and Bilateral Relations Summit in 2025.

    This landmark summit aims to strengthen Nigeria-China relations, prioritized by the Federal Government due to China’s status as a leading global economic power and key business partner. The House of Representatives Committee seeks to develop a legislative agenda promoting ease of doing business between the two nations.

    Key Objectives:

    – Present Credible Investment Opportunities to Showcase market-ready projects for investor engagement.

    – Foster Collaboration to Strengthen the business environment through partnerships.

    – Promote Products to Serve as the primary point of contact between investors and financial institutions

    Special Focus Areas:

    – Agriculture
    – Mining and Solid Minerals
    – Power and Renewable Energy
    – Communication/ICT
    – Oil and Gas
    – Construction and Entrepreneurs.

    The Technical Planning Committee comprises representatives from key entities, including the China Embassy, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), and National Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). Private sector organizations, such as the China Chamber of Commerce and Lagos Chamber of Commerce, have also pledged their support.

    During the inaugural meeting, Hon. Jafaru Yakubu, Chairman of the House Committee on Nigeria-China Parliamentary Relations, urged the Technical Planning Committee to cooperate with Merited Negotiation Consulting to ensure the success of both summits. The Chinese Ambassador pledged technical and related support, while the Director-General of the China Chamber of Commerce committed to involving strategic Chinese companies operating in Nigeria.

    Kunle Yusuff, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of Merited Negotiation Consulting, expressed gratitude for the engagement and assured outstanding results. He called for collaboration and partnership from relevant ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to ensure the success of the event.
