There was widespread excitement across Lagelu as Ramata Agberemi, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, formally declared her ambition to contest for a seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
Residents, including traders, motorists, motorcycle riders and artisans, turned out in large numbers to express their support, describing her declaration as a welcome development for the constituency.
Many of her supporters praised her longstanding record of grassroots empowerment, noting that her interventions have consistently benefited various groups within the local government.
They highlighted her periodic support programmes, which they said, have positively impacted livelihoods across communities.
Several attendees at the gathering claimed that her track record in public service distinguished her from other elected and appointed officials in the area.
According to them, her commitment to humanitarian causes and community development has earned her widespread admiration.
