“Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge” – Simon Sinek

The quote resonates aptly as the political landscape of Lagelu State Constituency prepares for the upcoming elections and one name stands out, Hon. Olufemi Ajibade.

A dedicated leader and the CEO of the Femi Adewumi Ajibade Foundation, he is set to contest for the House of Assembly in 2027.

His commitment to improving the lives of his constituents and his hands-on approach to community empowerment make him a formidable candidate. Little wonder he was installed as the Agbaakin Igbo Elerin in Lagelu local government.

Hon. Ajibade’s passion for social welfare is evident through his foundation’s impactful initiatives. He has been a staunch advocate for widows, providing support that includes financial assistance and empowerment programmes.

His foundation has not only helped individual families but has also made strides in education. With two undergraduates currently receiving full scholarships, one at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and the other at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ajibade is committed to ensuring that education remains accessible.

Furthermore, the foundation has funded the WAEC and JAMB fees for 20 students, spotlighting his dedication to fostering academic success among the youth.

Additionally, he has provided full financial support for five individuals undergoing eye surgeries, showcasing his commitment to health and well-being in the community.

Hon. Ajibade’s plans extended beyond education and health. He is set to provide three boreholes across the Lagelu West, Lagelu North, and Lagelu Central zones, addressing the critical issue of water access in these areas.

This initiative aims to enhance the quality of life for many residents, demonstrating his understanding of the community’s needs.

His empowerment programmes have also made a significant impact. One recipient of his support expressed gratitude, stating, “This is the first time since I entered politics that I have received anything.”

Such testimonials highlight Ajibade’s unique approach to leadership, prioritising the needs of the people over political gain.

As a seasoned politician and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Ajibade has a wealth of experience.

His role as the Director-General of the Campaign Council for the current lawmaker has equipped him with the skills necessary to navigate the political landscape effectively.

His firsthand understanding of the challenges facing his constituents positions him as a candidate who can genuinely make a difference.

Hon. Ajibade emphasised the importance of communication with his constituents. His periodic interactions with the community ensure that he remains in touch with their needs and concerns.

This approach not only fosters trust but also empowers individuals to voice their opinions and engage in the political process.

With a proven track record of service and a deep commitment to the welfare of Lagelu State Constituency, Hon. Olufemi Ajibade is more than just a candidate; he embodies the hope and progress that the community seeks.

As he prepares for the 2027 elections, his vision for a better, more empowered constituency is one that resonates deeply with the people he aims to serve.
