The Land Sellers Association of Oyo State has declared its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging total loyalty to the party and Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was made during a courtesy visit to Ambassador Arapaja by a delegation of the association led by its State Coordinator, Alhaji Taofeek Osama.

Other leaders present included Alhaji Saheed Abidoye Ila, Alhaji Sina Ajanaku, Hon. Sarafa Alade, Mr Bolaji BJ, Sango Mokola and Alhaja Sukurat Oyeniji, among others.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Alhaji Saheed Abidoye Ila declared the association’s readiness to support all APC candidates across the state and work with other party stakeholders to ensure victory.

He recalled how the association contributed to the emergence of the present administration but expressed disappointment over what he described as the government’s betrayal of their loyalty and subsequent labelling of members as land grabbers.
He criticised Governor Seyi Makinde, arguing that it was ironic for an administration accused of land-related controversies to label others as land grabbers.
The association assured the APC of its commitment to grassroots mobilisation, declaring that its members had resolved to deliver their respective polling units to the party.
“We have our members across the state, and we have mandated ourselves to deliver our individual polling units to the APC,” he declared.
Also speaking, Baba Kamorudeen, popularly known as Survivor General, described the Makinde administration as the real land grabber and expressed confidence that God would grant the APC victory in the state.
In his remarks, Ambassador Arapaja expressed delight at receiving the delegation, recalling their longstanding political relationship and shared commitment across different political platforms.
He noted that Governor Makinde’s emergence was made possible through a coalition of political stakeholders, expressing disappointment that many individuals who contributed to his success had subsequently become victims of political disagreements.
“This present governor fought almost everybody who stood with him to become governor. His administration was a product of a coalition.
“We have always been together in every political party I have belonged to from inception. I am really happy to see you again and to know that we are once more on the same political path,” Arapaja said.
The former Deputy Governor also raised concerns over land administration in the state, questioning reports of land being sold for as much as ₦300 million and asking how ordinary residents could afford such properties.
He accused the present administration of neglecting the interests of ordinary people while alleging that politically connected individuals were benefiting from land transactions.
Speaking on the 2027 political direction of the state, Arapaja maintained that the people of Oyo State were now more politically conscious and deserved a government that listens to their concerns.
He particularly referenced the Circular Road project, accusing the government of ignoring residents’ concerns for years before making major financial commitments and announcements as another election approached.
“The people are wiser now. You cannot refuse to listen to the people for years and suddenly remember their concerns when elections are approaching. Oyo State deserves a government that listens to its people.
“By 2027, the people will elect a government that truly represents their interests and vote out those who have failed them,” he stated.
Arapaja expressed confidence in the growing strength of the APC across the state and urged the delegation to sustain its grassroots mobilisation efforts and work closely with other party stakeholders towards the party’s victory in 2027.
