Leave an Impactful Legacy for Generation Unborn – Don Urges Nigerian Leaders

Ile-Ife – Prof. Debo Adeyewa, former Vice Chancellor of the Redeemer University, Ede, Osun state, has urged Nigerian leaders to endeavour leaving an impactful legacy for generation unborn.

Adeyewa gave the admonition on Friday in Ile-Ile, while delivering a lecture; tittled ‘A life of Impact – a legacy for generation unborn’ , at the 2020 SouthWest Nigeria Excellence Awards(SNEA) for Heroes, held at the Conference Centre, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife.

According to the Professor, a good legacy maker must be visionary, have integrity, competent, courageous, creativity, compassionate, be provider of service, character moulder, collect with people and cultivate others, if we must leave an indelible legacy.

The Don posited that good legacy was vital in the development of a nation, thus admonishing everyone to endeavour to be a legacy maker.

He noted that the nation has a deficit of leadership in the category of legacies that are long lasting and for generation unborn.

He however said that some of the legacy makers we have in the country are not found at the right places we should find them.

“Sometimes the followership are also the problem, so I urge both the leadership and followership to find a means of touching generation yet unborn.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Oyo State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mrs Dolapo Dosunmu, was confermed with the 2020 Hero of the State Award, at the event.

According to Dr Honey Olawale, the Chief Executive Officer of SNEA, Dosunmu uncommon outstanding performance and the landmark achievement recorded in her chosen career made her to receive the award.

In her remark, Dosunmu said the award was a challenge for her to do more and posited that her wish was to be remembered as someone who consistently raising fellow human beings to the highest level in life.

She pledged to continue impacting positively on everyone she come across in her life.
