LG Polls: PDP Chieftain, Dr Akande Commends Gov Makinde, Congratulates Adeojo, Councillors-elect in Ido

The Local Government elections in Oyo state was held peacefully yesterday throughout all the local governments.

In Ido Local Government, Amb (Dr.) Akande Kazeem Babatunde was one of the many people who came out to exercise their franchise.

He spoke to newsmen after the elections yesterday. Akande lauded the efforts of the the state government under the leadership of Governor Oluseyi Makinde. He noted his efforts in ensuring that the local government elections were held peacefully.

Akande further congratulated PDP aspirants in Ido Local Government for the councillorship and chairmanship seats.

The entire seats were won by the PDP with Hon. Sheriff Adeojo clinching a second term ticket to serve as the chairman of Ido Local Government.

Amidst a jubilant atmosphere, Hon Adeojo Sheriff secured a remarkable victory for a second term, as residents of Ido trooped out ‘em mass to reaffirm their trust and confidence in his leadership, recognizing his exemplary service to the local government.

Akande expressed his thanks to electorates who found them worthy and also came out in numbers to vote.

He urged all winners to ensure that they honour their agreement and promises to the people. He emphasized that development can only start and first be felt at the grassroots. Hence, all political office holder at local government levels must be invested in making a positive impact.

Akande further thanked every supporter of the election who donated in cash and kind during the campaign.

Akande who also donated generously to the campaign and supported the elections said he’ll continue to support the government to fulfill their civic responsibilities to the people.

He noted that he’ll support the newly elected officials using his knowledge on policy making and leadership strategies to ensure peace, education, and security goals are achieved in Ido Local Government and Oyo state in general.

He once again congratulated the new officials and wished them the best in office.
