Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and his close ally, Otunba Seye Famojuro, were the centre of attention as they joined music lovers and dignitaries to celebrate the birthday of acclaimed gospel musician, Yinka Ayefele, at the Annual Judah Mega Praise in Ibadan.

Governor Makinde, who arrived slightly later than scheduled due to the day’s earlier Oyo @ 50 programmes, took a moment to personally greet Ayefele.

He said, “I must apologise for arriving a little late; the earlier activities marking Oyo State’s 50th anniversary demanded my attention.”

“Nevertheless, it is a pleasure to celebrate a remarkable son of Ekiti State, who by extension, has become a part of us here in Oyo State and whose contributions to music and media have positively impacted our region.”

Makinde lauded Ayefele not just for his music, but also for his influence in media and broadcasting, noting how his work has strengthened the cultural and information landscape of Oyo State and the Southwest.

“Yinka Ayefele is a trailblazer whose contributions to both gospel music and media have positively impacted our region.”

“His innovation in radio and media management has created platforms for countless talents to thrive.”

“It is always a joy to celebrate excellence and talent,” Makinde said, “and today, we honour a man who has devoted his life to uplifting others through music.”

Seye Famojuro, speaking alongside the governor, also highlighted Ayefele’s dual legacy, saying: “Beyond his inspiring music, Yinka Ayefele’s media ventures continue to uplift communities, provide employment, and shape positive narratives for Nigerians everywhere.”

“Yinka Ayefele remains a beacon of inspiration. His resilience, passion, and commitment to excellence in gospel music continue to inspire countless Nigerians,” he said.

The Annual Judah Mega Praise, which doubles as a birthday celebration for Ayefele, drew a large turnout of music lovers, dignitaries, and well-wishers from across the country.

The event highlighted not only Ayefele’s enduring legacy but also showcased the Governor and Famojuro’s close partnership and shared dedication to supporting cultural and artistic excellence in Oyo State.

The celebration featured performances, tributes, and heartfelt messages, culminating in a festive atmosphere that left attendees celebrating both the maestro and the strong political alliance between Makinde and Famojuro.

On the entourage of the Governor and Otunba Seye Famojuro were the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Williams Akin Fumilayo, Director-General Oyo State Disability Agency, Barrister Ayodele Adekanmbi, CEO Afia Homes and Construction Ltd, Engr Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem MCIArb, MCIOB, MCABE
    Mogaji Adanla among others.

They were received by senior Management of Fresh FM Nigeria.
