Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has presented staff and instruments of Office to Oba Samuel Adegbola, as the Eleruwa of Eruwaland, Ibarapa East Local Government.
Governor Makinde presented the instruments of office to the Eleruw-elect at the Executive Chamber, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, on Thursday.
The Governor revealed that he approved the appointment of Oba Adegbola as recommended by the Kingmakers for Eruwaland to return the town to the path of development.
Governor Makinde while reaffirming that his administration will not interfere with the affairs of traditional institutions, charged other ruling parties to keep their money rather than heading to court.
The Governor highlighted his effort to resolve the issue since 2019, admitting that traditional rulers play vital roles in the security architecture and preservation of culture and heritage.
In his acceptance speech, the Eleruw-elect , Oba Samuel Adegbola, pledged to work for the reconciliation of Eruwa people and join hands with other traditional rulers for the progress of the state.
Eleruwa stool remained vacant since Ọba Adegbola was deposed on 29th November, 2019 by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
