… Hon Comforter Hails Oyo Gov
The Oyo State Governo Engineer Seyi Makinde has declared free allocation of the newly constructed stalls at the Agodi Gate junction to the traders who were sent away from the road sides within the area.
Governor Makinde, made the declaration while commissioning the newly constructed Agodi Gate, Civic centre and Idi-Ape junction improvement works in the company of Anambra state Governor Charles Soludo.
Governor Makinde who frowned at street trading and illegal dumping of refuse, said that he has given directives that anyone caught, will face the wrath of the law.
Governor Makinde who added that UI, Poly road, and Eleyele, junction would also be improved and noted that efforts would reduce the man power spent in traffic and also serve as a clear statement in the quest for the rule of law.
In his speech, Governor Soludo, described Governor Makinde as an uncommon leader for laying hands on fundamental projects, rather than focusing on what would be of benefit to his next political ambition unlike some other politicians.
In his address the state commissioner for Public works and Transportation, Prof. Dahud Shangodoyin, said the road project was aimed to enhance the safety of both motorists and pedestrians, reduce congestion, and improve the overall flow of traffic in Ibadan metropolis adding that the project aligns with the vision of transforming Oyo State Into a leading hub of commerce and Investment.
According to Prof. Shangodoyin, major components of the Junction Improvement Work include: clearing, earthworks and lateritic filling, pavement and Surfacing, relocation of Utilities, fence walls among others.
Also in their separate goodwill messages, the first Babaloja General of Oyo state, Alhaji Asiwaju Yekini Oladapo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Relation, Honourable Innocent Nwosu and Member representing Ibadan North State Constituency I Honourable Olajide Comforter lauded the governor for his uncommon initiatives and development of infrastructural projects which signifies progress and sustainability in oyo state.
