‎Makinde’s Consensus Arrangements Under Fire as Notable Supporter Threatens Defection Over Exclusion, Manipulation

‎A fresh wave of political tension has emerged within the Oyo State political space as Hon. Sheriff Segun Adesina, SSA, and grassroots politician in Ward 10, Ibadan NorthWest, publicly criticised recent internal political decisions within the PDP, describing them as unfair, exclusionary, and lacking democratic consultation.
    ‎
‎Adesina, who is associated with OMO SHEU 2027 political movement, expressed deep frustration over what he termed growing imposition of political outcomes and disregard for loyalty and grassroots contributions within the state’s political structure.
    ‎
‎In a strongly worded statement issued on Saturday, he reaffirmed his past loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, noting that he had previously made personal sacrifices for party unity, including stepping down from political contests in the interest of peace and stability.
    ‎
‎However, he said recent developments have changed his perspective.
    ‎
‎“I cannot continue to pretend that all is well when some recent decisions and actions within the political structure do not reflect fairness, inclusiveness, or true democratic values,” he stated.
    ‎
‎He alleged that dedicated party members were being sidelined while “personal interests” were being prioritised over competence, loyalty, and grassroots acceptance.
    ‎
‎Adesina further accused elements within the political structure of suppressing voices and imposing decisions without adequate consultation, warning that such practices undermine internal democracy and weaken trust among loyal supporters.
    ‎
‎“Leadership must be just, transparent, and rewarding to those who have stood firm through difficult times,” he said.
    ‎
‎He emphasised that his silence should not be mistaken for acceptance of the current situation, stressing that he feels compelled to speak out in defence of both his dignity and his supporters.
    ‎
‎In a development that could signal deeper political realignment, Adesina revealed he is currently consulting with supporters and political associates on his next move, including the possibility of defecting to another political platform.
    ‎
‎“I am consulting seriously… including the possibility of moving to a platform where loyalty is respected, contribution is valued, and the people’s voice truly matters,” he declared.
    ‎
‎He maintained that his political mission remains focused on serving the people of Ibadan NorthWest, insisting that he will align with any platform that prioritises justice, inclusiveness, and progress.
    ‎
‎The statement is already generating reactions within local political circles, as those within and without are viewing the development as another sign of rising internal tension and dissatisfaction within grassroots structures ahead of future political contests.
