Road construction and rehabilitation projects are gaining pace across Oyo East Local Government Area of Oyo State, as residents continue to witness renewed infrastructure development under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The development was highlighted on Sunday in a statement made available to journalists by Ibrahim Olojule, the Supervisory Councillor for Works in Oyo East Local Government, following an inspection tour of ongoing projects in the area.
Olojule said the widespread road works have effectively turned Oyo into a massive construction site, reflecting the commitment of the state government and local authorities to improving public infrastructure.
“As road construction and rehabilitation works are ongoing across Oyo East Local Government Areas, I visited project sites today to assess the level of progress being made across the council.”
According to him, several strategic roads are currently under construction, with the aim of easing transportation, boosting commerce, and improving connectivity among communities.
Among the roads listed are the Balogun–Ile Aagba road, which links Alalubosa, as well as the Apaara–Ile Bara–Oke Apo Junction route, alongside other roads captured under the development plan.
“These road projects are being executed under the able leadership of the Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Oluokun Olusola Peter, whose administration remains committed to grassroots development,” he said.
The Works Supervisory Councillor also praised Governor Seyi Makinde for what he described as visionary leadership, noting that the governor’s resilience and dedication to inclusive growth have continued to transform communities across Oyo State.
“This is another clear testament to the visionary governance of Governor Seyi Makinde, whose commitment to development continues to reshape the landscape of Oyo State,” Olojule added.
He further stated that the council chairman sees the ongoing projects as another major achievement aimed at moving the local government forward, improving living conditions, and making life more comfortable for the people of Oyo East.
