History was made on Thursday as thousands of youths gathered for the grand finale of the Iseyin PDP Youth Summit, held to educate and empower the youths of Iseyin Local Government to celebrate Governor Seyi Makinde’s outstanding achievements in Oyo State.
The event, which was attended by dignitaries including Senator Andrew Gbenga Babalola, Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sport Wasilat Adegoke, and Executive Chairman of Iseyin Local Government Rasak Fadiran, aimed to reorientate the youths towards embracing qualitative leadership and sincerity of purpose, as demonstrated by Governor Makinde since 2019.
Honourable Commissioner Wasilat Adegoke, representing Governor Makinde, highlighted some of the administration’s programs and policies geared towards youth emancipation, including the appointment of young people to key positions, a departure from the past when older individuals were appointed to such roles.
In their remarks, the duo of Honourable Micheal Ogunsina and Hon. Ayoola Olopoeeyan, the Chairman, ANFE Oyo state charged the youths to unite and focus on membership drive in Iseyin Local Government, emphasizing its strategic importance as a gateway to other local governments in the Oke Ogun area of Oyo State.
Various speakers highlighted Governor Makinde’s laudable projects in the entire Oke Ogun like, Iseyin-Moniya Road, Oyo-Iseyin Road, Iseyin-Fapote- ogbomosho Road, Iseyin township stadium, Iseyin City Hall, Saki township daul road, Saki ogbooro-igboho Road, OYSADA Saki, Idiko Ile to Igio Road in Iwajowa L. G among others.
The leadership of Omituntun in Iseyin Local Government was commended for complementing Governor Makinde’s efforts, and the summit provided an opportunity for the youths to congratulate newly appointed youths to various ministries and parastatals in the state.
The event was graced by dignitaries including Hon. Biodun Olasupo, former House of Rep Member; Hon. Raheem Ajibola FM, former Chairman, Iseyin South LCDA; Hon. Surv. Adefabi Dasola Fadiran, Commissioner 1, OYSROMA; and Chief Tanwa Adekunle, Secretary, Iseyin South LCDA.
