No Discrimination in Water Supply in Oyo, Says Water Corporation Chairman, Elias Adeojo
The Oyo State Government has affirmed its commitment to providing potable water to all residents without bias.
The statement was made during a visit by Hon. Elias Adeojo, Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation, to the Nigerian Correctional Centre in Agodi, Ibadan.

Adeojo emphasised that access to safe drinking water is a priority for the state government and is outlined in Chapter Eight of the Sustainable Development Goals set by Governor Seyi Makinde.

He stated, “Provision of water to the Correctional Centre and practically everyone in the state is included in the Roadmap of Sustainable Development Goal of Governor Seyi Makinde. In essence, there is no discrimination in the supply of water in Oyo State.”

Earlier in his address, the Assistant Controller of the Correctional Centre, Dr. Abdul Rahman Olayiwola, expressed gratitude for the state government’s efforts to reconnect the facility to the water supply.

He noted that while the Centre has five boreholes, only one is currently operational. The connection to the Oyo State Water Corporation’s supply has significantly improved conditions for the inmates.
Olayiwola also thanked Adeojo for his recent donation of food items to the Centre, highlighting the positive impact of the water supply and additional support from the state government.
