    Oba Balogun Would be Greatly Missed – BCOS Chairman

    The Chairman of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS, Chief Dotun Olaitan, has commiserated with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State at large over the demise of the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun, Ali Okunmade II, saying the monarch would be greatly missed.

    Chief Olaitan, in a condolence message made public on Friday, said that though the monarch’s reign was short, it was peaceful and impactful.
    She said that the late monarch brought unprecedented developments to the city of Ibadan and also facilitated great progress during the short period.

    “We appreciate greatly, the contributions of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun to peaceful coexistence among the people of Oyo State and for serving as a true custodian of the Yoruba culture during his short but eventful reign,” the BCOS Chariman said, adding the the late monarch would be missed by all.


    She also added that the monarch was a man of many parts who brought his experience in different aspects of life to bear on development in the city of Ibadan and Oyo State in general.

    She commended the late monarch for facilitating several indelible footprints withing such a short time.
    According to her, the great feats recorded under his reign would keep his memories in the hearts of the people for a long while.

    The condolence message read in part: “Much as we know it is always painful to lose a loved one, we will admonish the Oloris, the princes and the princesses and indeed, all stakeholders to take solace in the good deeds and great achievements Oba Lekan Balogun recorded while on earth.

    “We thank God for the eventful reign He granted our revered monarch, whom it has pleased the maker to call back home at this time.

    “Our condolences go to His Excellency, the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the immediate royal family, Aliwo sons and daughters at home and abroad, the Olubadan-in- Council and the people of Oyo State in general.
    “We also commiserate with the Oyo State Council of Traditional Rulers in this moment of grief.
    “May the Almighty God grant all the fortitude to bear this loss,” Amen.
