The paramount ruler of Ogbomoso kingdom,His Imperial Majesty Oba Afolabi Olaoye Ghandi has praised the exemplary leadership role of his Excellency Engr Oluseyi Makinde for his contribution towards health sector in the state especially during this critical moment when all nations of the world are passing through one difficult time or other.
The monarch stated this during an official visit of the management team of Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board led by the Executive Chairman, Dr Akin Fagbemi to the palace of the traditional ruler in Ogbomoso town.
Oba Ghandi said Ogbomosho is the second largest city in t Oyo state behind Ibadan which is the capital of the state.He advised people of the state to take advantage of the health facilities in the town for their medical checkups and drug medications because “Health is Wealth”.
The paramount king also read out 25-year development plan being embarked upon by the sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland which will be centred on the provision of basic social amenities for the people of the town in which provision of basic health care services is one of them.
He therefore gave some words of advice to the medical practitioners in the various hospitals in the state especially the doctors and nurses to see patients as their clients and customers.
In his response,the chairman of Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board, Dr Akin Fagbemi appreciated his imperial majesty Oba Ghandi Olaoye for his contributions to the development of Ogbomosoland since his appointment as the paramount ruler of the town.
He also solicited for more support from the paramount ruler so as to take the State Hospital, Ogbomoso to a greater height where it can compete with other facilities within the state.
Present during the visit in company of his imperial majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Oloye were Oba Thompson Adeyeye the Alajaawa of Ajaawa and Oba Solomon Olagoke Akinola the Olokoo of Okooland while the management team of OYSHMB was led by the chairman Dr Akin Fagbemi,the Permanent Secretary Dr Anifat Ibraheem and some directors in the board.
