In a remarkable display of community appreciation, Lagelu West LCDA’s Oba Ololorunda of Olorunda, Oba Samuel Oludele Folarin, and a consortium of traditional baales gathered at the illustrious Palace to commend Chief Benedict Akika, Agbaakin Olorundaaba Aba and Mayegun of Akobo, for his consistent and impactful civic responsibilities in the area.

Oba Ololorunda, in an address resonating with gratitude, described Chief Akika as a paragon of responsibility and respect for elders.

Emphasizing Chief Akika’s unwavering dedication, Oba Ololorunda lauded his efforts in providing succor to the community amidst challenges. Drawing a sharp contrast with unfulfilled political promises made by some politicians, the Oba hailed Chief Akika’s commitment, stating, “Come rain or shine, Chief Benedict Akika is always there for us, initiating various projects, empowering our people, and providing monetary aid to support local businesses.”

The royal fathers collectively expressed pride in Chief Akika’s contributions, deeming individuals of his caliber as rare gems in the state.

Oba Ololorunda led a prayer for Chief Akika’s enduring and impactful life, wishing him the strength to continue positively impacting the community.

Responding to the accolades, Chief Benedict Akika expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception and commendations from the Oba and traditional baales. In a pledge not to take their appreciation lightly, Chief Akika articulated his deep respect for traditional rulers and acknowledged their role in fostering meaningful development.

Promising to build on his current initiatives, Chief Akika stressed the importance of living a purposeful life.

“The purpose of living is to live a life of purpose,” he declared, emphasizing his commitment to the development of Lagelu and Oyo State at large.

The esteemed gathering included Baale Olabelapa, Rasheed Lawal; Baale Kajola, Francis Daramola; Baale Oyedeji, Razaq Oyedeji; Baale Idigba, Sunday Fatayo; Baale Eniosa, Gabriel Olajide; Baale Agbo, Sikiru Olanipekun; Baale Gbena, Rafiu O. Windokun; and Baale Tela, Dauda Bakare.

As the community basks in the acknowledgment of Chief Benedict Akika’s contributions, it stands as a testament to the power of individuals dedicated to meaningful civic engagement in fostering lasting positive change.
