Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide, Odidiomo has announced his intention to contest for the Oyo South Senatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement, Olajide said the decision followed “deep consultations” and was made in alignment with the leadership direction of his political associates.
“After deep consultations and in alignment with the leadership direction of His Excellency, I have accepted the call to contest for the Oyo South Senatorial seat on the platform of the (APM) ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.
Olajide, who currently represents Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said his senatorial ambition was aimed at expanding quality representation and accelerating development across the district.
“Having proudly represented Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency for two consecutive terms in the House of Representatives, I believe this next step is an opportunity to expand quality representation, strengthen development, and amplify the voice of our people across the nine local government areas of Oyo South Senatorial District,” he stated.
He added that his aspiration was motivated by a desire for greater service rather than personal ambition.
“This aspiration is not driven by personal ambition, but by a sincere commitment to greater service, grassroots development, youth empowerment, and effective representation. Together, we will continue to build a stronger and more prosperous,” he said.
