Ogunlade returns to OYSROMA, appreciates Makinde for confidence, support

The Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA), Hon. Busoye Ogunlade, has resumed his duties at the agency following the conclusion of the process leading to the selection of candidates for the forthcoming elections.

Ogunlade, who had earlier submitted a resignation letter to pursue his aspiration to represent his federal constituency in the House of Representatives, expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his unwavering confidence in him and for declining to accept his resignation.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ogunlade described Governor Makinde’s gesture as a demonstration of exceptional leadership, trust, and fatherly support.

“I am deeply grateful to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for the confidence he continues to repose in me. When I submitted my resignation letter, I did so out of respect for due process and my desire to pursue another avenue of public service. However, the Governor, in his wisdom, chose not to accept my resignation, and for this I remain sincerely thankful,” he said.

Ogunlade noted that while his aspiration to represent the constituency did not materialize, he remains fulfilled by the opportunity to continue contributing to the development of Oyo State through his current assignment.

“Politics is not always about personal victories. Sometimes, it is about loyalty, service, and commitment to a greater cause. I have accepted the outcome in good faith and with absolute loyalty to our leader, Governor Seyi Makinde, and to the collective interest of our party and the people of Oyo State,” he added.

The OYSROMA Chairman pledged to rededicate himself to the responsibilities of the agency, assuring residents of the state that ongoing efforts to maintain and rehabilitate roads across the state would receive renewed attention.

He further thanked supporters, political associates, constituents, and well-wishers who stood by him throughout the period of consultation and political engagement.

In an emotional reflection, Ogunlade said the Governor’s decision not to accept his resignation reinforced his belief that public service should be driven by purpose rather than position.

“His Excellency’s faith in me is a responsibility I do not take lightly. It is humbling to know that even in moments of political uncertainty, one can still be trusted with important assignments. I am returning to OYSROMA with renewed energy, deeper gratitude, and an even stronger determination to justify that trust,” he stated.

Hon. Ogunlade reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Makinde, the administration, and the party, while pledging to continue working for the progress, unity, and development of Oyo State.
