Hon. Olusina John Ogunsola has emerged as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Oluyole Federal Constituency after recording a resounding victory in the party’s House of Representatives primary election.

The primary, held in Oluyole was conducted in the presence of security personnel and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who monitored the exercise.

Ogunsola secured an overwhelming 1,631 votes to defeat his closest challengers, Hon. Adeniran Olaide, who polled 88 votes, and Hon. Adetunji Francis, who garnered 68 votes.

Party officials described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and orderly, with delegates commending the conduct of the election and the level of coordination displayed throughout the process.

Speaking shortly after he was declared winner, Ogunsola expressed gratitude to delegates, party leaders and supporters for what he called a “historic mandate”.

“This victory belongs to the people of Oluyole who desire credible leadership, effective representation and sustainable development,” he said.

“I am sincerely humbled by the confidence reposed in me by party faithful. The overwhelming support shown today demonstrates our shared commitment to a better future for the constituency.”

The ADC flagbearer also called for unity among party members ahead of the general election.

“I extend my hand of fellowship to my fellow aspirants and their supporters. Now is the time to come together as one united family with a common goal of delivering quality representation to the people of Oluyole,” Ogunsola added.

Some party stakeholders at the venue praised the peaceful conduct of the exercise, noting that the presence of INEC officials and security operatives further strengthened the credibility of the primary.
