Residents of Akinyele Local Government have commended their Executive Chairman , Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, for his prompt response, visible leadership, and unwavering commitment to maintaining peace following the security tension that engulfed the Ojoo axis of Ibadan Today.

The tension, which reportedly stemmed from the killing of a commercial tricycle rider last night, raised concerns among residents and prompted the immediate intervention of security agencies and government officials to forestall a breakdown of law and order.

On behalf of the Oyo State Government, the Deputy Governor, Chief Bayo Lawal, visited the affected area on the directive of Governor Seyi Makinde, appealing to residents to remain calm while security agencies carry out a thorough investigation into the incident. He assured the public that justice would be served and that anyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law.

The government’s swift intervention, coupled with the deployment of security personnel, helped to restore normalcy and prevent the situation from escalating further.

Speaking during the intervention, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye reassured residents that the local government was working hand in hand with relevant security agencies to guarantee the safety of lives and property.

He urged members of the public to shun reprisals, avoid spreading unverified information capable of inciting violence, and continue to cooperate with security operatives in the collective interest of peace and security across the local government.

Residents, community leaders, and stakeholders at the scene of the council boss engagement, praised his exceptional level of responsiveness, noting that he remained physically present at the scene from the early hours of the day until calm was fully restored.

They described his accessibility, willingness to identify with the people during difficult moments, and timely security interventions as hallmarks of responsible and people oriented leadership. Many observed that his reassuring presence greatly contributed to dousing the tension and restoring confidence among residents of Ojoo and its environs.

The residents further applauded the Akinleye for consistently replicating the people oriented leadership style of his principal, Governor Seyi Makinde, particularly through his sustained investments in security and community safety across Akinyele Local Government.
