‎Political activities are gradually taking shape in Ido Local Government as Asiwaju Olatilewa Oladimeji Ayinla, a chairmanship aspirant, continues to engage residents with a campaign centred on governance reform, community inclusion, and improved service delivery.
    ‎
‎His engagements across wards in the local government have focused on what he describes as the urgent need to reposition local administration to better reflect the realities and expectations of residents.
    ‎
‎He argues that effective leadership must be judged by its ability to solve everyday community challenges.
    ‎
‎Across neighbourhoods, his message is resonating with segments of the population, especially youths and community-based stakeholders who are increasingly advocating for a leadership style that prioritises accessibility, responsiveness, and practical development outcomes.
    ‎
‎“Local government should not feel distant from the people. We need leadership that is present, active, and accountable,” said a resident during a recent interaction with supporters of the aspirant.
    ‎
‎Supporters describe Olatilewa Ayinla as someone who places strong emphasis on dialogue and community participation, noting that his political engagements often revolve around direct conversations with residents rather than distant campaign rhetoric.
    ‎
‎“He consistently speaks about building systems that work for everyone, especially at the community level where the impact is most needed,” said a youth stakeholder familiar with his engagements.
    ‎
‎Market women and artisans within Ido Local Government have also highlighted his focus on strengthening local economic activities, particularly through improved support structures for small-scale trade and entrepreneurship.
    ‎
‎Women leaders across the area have expressed optimism that stronger attention to welfare support and small business development could help improve financial stability in households and communities.
    ‎
‎“He often reminds us that governance must translate into real-life improvement, not just policy discussions,” said a community member during a stakeholder meeting.
    ‎
‎Youth groups continue to respond positively to his message, with many pointing to the need for employment opportunities, vocational training, and greater inclusion of young people in decision-making processes at the local level.
    ‎
‎“We are interested in someone who understands the structure of local administration and can make it work for the people,” a community leader remarked.
    ‎
‎As the 2026 race progresses, Olatilewa Ayinla continues to present his aspiration as a call for reform-driven leadership aimed at strengthening service delivery and improving governance outcomes across Ido Local Government.
