Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has given the contractor handling the Olodo bridge to commence the reconstruction of the second phase of the two-span bridge.

The Governor gave the go ahead on Sunday while inspecting the first phase of the bridge which was opened for pedestrians few weeks.

Makinde buttressed the assertion of his Commissioner, Professor Kehinde Daud Sangodoyin that the first phase of the bridge would be opened to vehicular traffic in weeks time.

“This afternoon, we inspected the Olodo Bridge being constructed to replace the old bridge which collapsed after a heavy downpour last year.

“The bridge, which is already open to pedestrians, will be open to vehicular traffic in a week’s time.

“I also gave the go-ahead for the contractor to commence the second phase of the construction of the two-span bridge.”
