Olufade, Falana Pledge to Resuscitate Yemetu Skills Acquisition Centre

 

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, visited the Yemetu Aladorin Skills Acquisition Center to assess its current state and explore avenues for positive development.

Accompanying him was Hon. Adebowale Falana, the Chairman of the Oyo State Youth Development Agency, known for his outstanding contributions to youth empowerment since his appointment.

The Yemetu Aladorin Skills Acquisition Center, renowned for training individuals in various skills, has played a crucial role in enabling many to become self-reliant.

During the visit, Hon. Olufade and Hon. Falana toured several departments, including Electrical, Computer, Fashion Designing, Hairdressing, Shoemaking, and Catering.

The inspection led the two chairmen to contemplate reviving the center to its former glory.

Both emphasized that revitalizing the center could significantly reduce unemployment in Oyo State, particularly in Ibadan North Local Government, and serve as a revenue source for the local government.

Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade expressed his commitment to discovering and nurturing talent among the youth, helping them achieve their goals and contribute meaningfully to society.

He encouraged the trainees to remain focused and diligent in their learning, assuring them of his continued support.

Echoing similar sentiments, Hon. Adebowale Falana reiterated his dedication to ensuring that Oyo State’s youth are gainfully employed and productive.

He affirmed his full support for the center’s revitalization, recognizing its potential to benefit the youth of both Oyo State and Ibadan North Local Government.

The inspection team included key officials from Ibadan North Local Government, such as the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Akeem Olatunji; Director of Education and Social Services, Alhaja Nojimudeen Kudirat; Director of Budget, Mr. Kehinde Olasumbo; Desk Officer for Education, Mrs. Abiodun Olatokun; Information Officer, Mrs. Lala Olufunmike; the Chairman’s Head of Media, Aderibigbe Yisahu, Ayodamope Afolabi, a member of the media team and Miss Mojisola Elizabeth, Corp Member.
