The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has expressed his deep regret over the death of former Governor of Oyo State, Dr Omololu Olunloyo who died early this morning, describing his death as the end of a towering figure in the Nigerian politics.

Arapaja made this assertion in a condolence statement he signed and made available to newsmen through his Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim this afternoon.

Arapaja said though the  former governor served for just a three as the Governor of the old Oyo State, he was a highly respected mathematician, engineer, and renowned technocrat whose  legacy would continue to inspire many generations yet unborn.

“I Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, on behalf of myself, family and indeed all members of PDP in the southern part of Nigeria mourn the death of our dear father and great scientific mathematician, Dr. Omololu who died in this morning.

Dr. Olunloyo’s death is a monumental loss to Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.

Dr. Omololu Olunloyo exhibited an uncommon symbol of brilliance, simplicity, and unwavering commitment to public service.

“His contributions to governance, academia, and the development of Oyo state and Nigeria will remain evergreen.

I hereby express my  heartfelt condolences to the Oyo State government under the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Olunloyo family, the good people of Ibadanland and the entire Oyo State.

I pray that God will comfort the family, forgive his shortcomings and grant his soul eternal rest.” Arapaja prayed.
