The Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola, has donated four brand-new motorcycles to security agencies and community security groups operating within the local government as part of his administration’s continued efforts to strengthen security operations and safeguard the lives and property of residents.
The motorcycles were presented to the security groups at the Oyo East Local Government Secretariat Complex. One motorcycle was allocated to the Amotekun Corps, one to the Forest Hunters, while two were presented to Vigilante groups to enhance their mobility and operational effectiveness.
The presentation was witnessed by the Secretary to the Chairman, Chief of Staff, Heads of Departments and Directors, Councillors, Supervisory Councillors, Special Assistants and other officials of the local government.
Speaking separately, the Coordinator of the Amotekun Corps in Oyo East Local Government and the Coordinator of the Forest Hunters expressed their appreciation to the Chairman for the gesture.
They commended Hon. Oluokun for his commitment to strengthening the security architecture of Oyo East Local Government and for demonstrating a clear vision towards protecting the lives and property of the people.
The Vigilante groups also appreciated the Chairman for the donation, promising to put the motorcycles to judicious and effective use in line with the purpose for which they were provided.
The Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA) urged the benefiting security agencies to use the motorcycles responsibly and judiciously, stressing that the gesture was aimed at improving their operational capacity and ensuring a safer environment for residents.
In his remarks, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the opportunity to serve the people and for his administration’s numerous completed and ongoing projects across Oyo East Local Government.
The Chairman explained that the donation of the motorcycles was in line with the security and development policies of the Makinde administration, adding that his administration remained committed to supporting security agencies in their efforts to maintain peace and protect lives and property.
Hon. Oluokun reiterated his administration’s commitment to making the security and welfare of the people a priority, noting that effective security is essential to sustainable development and economic growth.
The Chairman also expressed appreciation to Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu for her charismatic leadership and her continued, unalloyed contributions to the development of Oyo State and the advancement of the people.
He assured residents that his administration would continue to explore practical measures and collaborations that would further strengthen security and promote peace across Oyo East Local Government.
