…Urge Arrest of Impostor

Leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oluyole Federal Constituency have unanimously reaffirmed Hon. Olusina John Ogunsola as the party’s duly elected candidate for the House of Representatives, while calling on security operatives to arrest an individual allegedly parading himself as the party’s flagbearer.

The leadership’s position followed the party’s primary election in which Ogunsola secured a decisive and emphatic victory.

Speaking on behalf of other leaders, the overall leader, Alhaji Mohammed Akindele, reiterated the party’s official stance, describing Ogunsola’s candidacy as valid, legitimate, and reflective of the will of delegates.

He further urged relevant security agencies to take immediate action against any person attempting to misrepresent the outcome of the primary or undermine the integrity of the party’s selection process.

Recall that in the primary election held in Oluyole, and monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) alongside security operatives, Ogunsola recorded a landslide victory with 1,631 votes. His closest rival, Hon. Adeniran Olaide, polled 88 votes, while Hon. Adetunji Francis secured 68 votes.

Party officials described the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and well-coordinated, noting that the presence of INEC officials and security personnel reinforced its credibility and legitimacy. Delegates also commended the orderly conduct of proceedings throughout the exercise.

In his acceptance remarks after being declared winner, Ogunsola expressed appreciation to party members, delegates, and supporters, describing his victory as a “historic mandate” rooted in the aspirations of the people of Oluyole.

“This victory belongs to the people of Oluyole who desire credible leadership, effective representation, and sustainable development.“

“I am sincerely humbled by the confidence reposed in me by party faithful. The overwhelming support demonstrated today reflects our shared commitment to a better future for the constituency,“ he said.

He also extended a hand of fellowship to his co-aspirants, calling for unity within the party ahead of the general elections.

“I extend my hand of fellowship to my fellow aspirants and their supporters. Now is the time to come together as one united family with a common goal of delivering quality representation to the people of Oluyole,” he added.

Stakeholders present at the venue further commended the peaceful nature of the primary, noting that the transparent process has strengthened confidence in the party’s internal democratic structures.
