    Oluyole PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Akeem Rounds Off Ward Tour, To Begin House-to-house Campaign

    The chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming April 27 local government election in Oyo state, Akeem Olatunji has rounded off his campaign tour to the 10 wards in the Council.

    Consequently, the party is set to begin a house-to-house campaign as a follow up to the ward tour as part of measures to ensure no stone was left unturned before the LG election.


    A statement by Olatunji, a civil engineer cum politician, on Tuesday February 20 indicated that the last wards visited include wards 3, 4, 9 and 6 to conclude the tour.

    The statement also indicated that party leaders, elders, political and non political stakeholders, interest groups including artisans, farmers, traders and landlord associations, community development leaders, religious and traditional leaders, sociocultural organizations, and others across the entire 10 wards openly gave their endorsements and declared Olatunji as their sole chairmanship candidate at the coming council poll.

    According to Olatunji, the ward to ward tour of the entire Oluyole allowed him to directly connect with voters on a personal level, while addressing their concerns and reeling out his economic development agenda as well as gaining valuable feedback.

    It was also gathered that by taking his time to tour each ward in Oluyole, Olatunji has demonstrated his commitment to the development of the local government, and equally displayed his dedication to serving his people if elected.

    The chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and Tijaniyah Islamic Society, Oluyole chapter, Apostle David Aduragbemi JP, Pastor Ezekiel and Sheikh Fadilah Musah Osioyemi, Sheikh Fadilah Ajisefini, Hon Razak Ademola Omo Shehu, were among spiritual leaders who also endorsed Olatunji’s candidacy.

    Others are the Professional Photographers and Video Association of Nigeria Oluyole chapter led by Alfa Kolapo Nasirudeen, who led large number of members of the association in Oluyole to Olatunji’s private residence in a show of open support.

    According to Olatunji, who was the immediate past Publicity Secretary of the ruling PDP in Oyo state, Governor Seyi Makinde’s ally, Otunba Seye Famojuro, has been a major pillar of support for his political success so far assuring that he would make them proud with the delivery of good governance at the grassroots if elected.

    Olatunji said: “Our grassroots campaigning tactics have not only helped us build smooth rapport with individual voters across the 10 wards but has also provided us with invaluable insights into the issues that matter most to residents in Oluyole.

    “With this targeted and personalized approach that have helped us conclude our tour of the 10 wards in Oluyole, we believe that our party, the PDP is well-positioned at a vantage standpoint to make a lasting impact and secure a landslide victory in the upcoming LG election in the state.”

    On Olatunji’s campaign train during the ward to ward tour of Oluyole are Oluyole PDP Vice Chairmanship Candidate, Hon Adeniyi Akorede, Honourable Waheed Akintayo representing Oluyole state constituency at the 10th State House of Assembly, LG PDP Chairman, Alh Mukaila Adegbola, Director General of Campaign Council, Architect Salaam Azeez, Campaign Council Chairman, Hon Fatai Ogunrin,
    Vice Chairman and Secretary of the LG Council, Hon Tunde Ayoade and Hon Azeez Babalola.

    Others are the PMS Treasurer and chairman of Motorcycle Riders in the state; Kamoru Idowu Owo Geesi and Comrade Saheed Akande respectively, Alhaji Oyeniyi Mumuni Alaba, Hon Mustapha Kazeem Oba and others.
