In the lead-up to the 2027 general elections, Ibadan’s bustling streets are giving rise to a familiar voice with national aspirations. Hon. Ibrahim Ajiboye, popularly known as Omo Iya Eleja, has declared his candidacy for the House of Representatives, aiming to serve the Ibadan Northeast/Southeast Federal Constituency.

Unlike many politicians whose campaigns rely on slogans and promises alone, Ajiboye’s platform is rooted in practical, results-oriented governance.

His message is clear: representation at the federal level should tangibly improve the lives of ordinary citizens.

“My decision to contest is driven by the desire to bring the concerns of our people directly to the national legislature.

Federal policy should not be distant from everyday realities. Representation must deliver visible results for communities,” he explained.

Ajiboye’s political journey began in the heart of Ibadan’s marketplaces, supporting small traders and initiating local empowerment programmes for youths.

These grassroots efforts, he believes, provide a blueprint for tackling broader national issues such as unemployment, limited access to capital, and gaps in education.

Political analysts suggest that candidates with strong local foundations and the ability to translate community needs into federal policy often emerge as influential legislators.

Ajiboye’s campaign focuses precisely on this intersection: ensuring that federal resources address the priorities of his constituents. Infrastructure improvements, youth employment schemes, and educational initiatives are central to his vision.

“Strong representation requires that communities speak with one voice at the federal level. Through effective advocacy, we can ensure that the policies passed in Abuja have a meaningful impact at home,” he added.

For residents of Ibadan Northeast/Southeast, Omo Iya Eleja’s promise is tangible: better roads, upgraded market facilities, enhanced educational opportunities, and economic empowerment initiatives designed to lift entire communities.

For Ajiboye, the constituency is more than a political base; it is a model demonstrating how national representation can reflect local knowledge and priorities.

As the campaign gains momentum, all eyes are on whether this grassroots leader can convert his community experience into influence at the national stage—and, in doing so, deliver measurable development that resonates far beyond Ibadan.
