Hon. Ibrahim Ajiboye, popularly known as Omo Iya Eleja, has indicated his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives, representing Ibadan Northeast/Southeast Federal Constituency, citing a growing call from constituents and supporters urging him to step forward.

Omo Iya Eleja explained that his decision is rooted in a desire to deepen representation at the federal level and ensure that the voices of ordinary citizens are more effectively reflected in national policymaking.

According to him, sustained engagement with community leaders, youth groups, and market associations across the constituency has reinforced his belief that a new approach to representation is both necessary and timely.

“I have listened carefully to the yearnings of our people. There is a strong desire for purposeful representation that not only speaks but delivers tangible results. That is the commitment I bring forward,“ he said.

His emergence came at a time when political discussions within the constituency are increasingly centred on effective leadership, inclusiveness, and the need to attract greater federal presence to the area.

Omo Iya Eleja has built a reputation at the grassroots level through consistent involvement in community development efforts and advocacy initiatives.

Supporters pointed to his accessibility and familiarity with local challenges as qualities that distinguish him from others in the race.
Residents in several parts of Ibadan Northeast and Southeast have acknowledged his contributions, particularly in areas relating to youths engagement and support for small-scale traders, describing him as someone who understands the realities of everyday people.
Political observers noted that his growing popularity may position him as a strong contender, especially among younger voters seeking a more relatable and responsive representative.
Speaking further, Omo Iya Eleja stressed the importance of bridging the gap between government and citizens, promising to prioritise legislation and interventions that directly impact livelihoods.
“My focus is clear, empowerment, infrastructure development, education, and economic opportunities for our people.“
“Representation must go beyond rhetoric; it must translate into visible progress.”
Omo Iya Eleja called for unity and collective effort, expressing optimism about the future of the constituency.
“With the support of our people, we can build a constituency that thrives, where opportunities are expanded and every voice truly counts,” he added.
