OPINION: NEED FOR REALIGNMENT OF SEYI MAKINDE’S POLITICAL ALLIES AHEAD OF 2023

It’s crystal clear that the giant stride of achievements recorded under his Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde needs to continue beyond 2023.

This is audible to the deaf that many decisions and approaches that the Makinde led administration has been using to settle many uprising issues and grievances can’t be set aside, the manner that the governor of the pace setter used to pilot the affairs of the state during the COVID-19 lockdown shows to other states that they need to think outside the box for their citizens not to experience hardship in this pandemic era.

As the quote implies that one good turn deserves another, then coalition, reconciliation, realignment and strategies need to be put in place in all the thirty (33) local government area of Oyo State for him to win in a landslide victory comes 2023. For this to be easily achieved, political analysts need to be set up from all the 351 wards that constitute the state. Past elections within the state need to be evaluated and appraisal should be conducted to know the mights of all politicians in their locality.

Biasness should be shun by the committee of the analysts which could be a party member or freelance political observer.
Listening to Engr. Seyi Makinde inviting the opposition to come out with him to test their political hypothesis on the street convince me that all political office holders should be encouraged to retrace their steps back to there political zones for more evangelism of the good work of the governor and giving self dividend of democracy to their people. This action will energise GSM loyalists that didn’t have opportunity to move closer to the corridor of power.

The State Executive Council of our great party (PDP) should be saddled with reconciliation moves to make sure that every politicians that work for the governor in 2019 did not left out and to make sure that intra party issues is seriously attended to with open minded.

Yes, factions are inevitable but the common goals is the same which is to win the 2023 gubernatorial election with higher margin than the last election. All hands need to be on desk to mobilize more supporters for GSM and PDP at large as we know that politics is a game of numbers.

Moreover, the Community Development Association (CDA) needs to be well structured and governed by a unified Constitution, a commission should be dedicated to their activities for the benefits of democracy to really touch the crooks and crannies of the State.

Permit me to be the first person to congratulate the governor of the people in Oyo State comes 2023 in advance as I put my pen down on this write-up.

God bless GSM,
God bless PDP,
God bless Oyo State.
