The Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Peter Olusola Oluokun, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers of Oriire who had been in the custody of abductors since May.

In a statement made available through his media Aide Adeleke Afees Adeniran, Hon. Oluokun described the rescue operation as a testament to Governor Makinde’s resilience, proactive leadership, and unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property across Oyo State.

According to the chairman, the successful rescue of the victims further demonstrates the governor’s determination to ensure that no resident of the state is left vulnerable to criminal elements.

Hon. Oluokun noted that Governor Makinde has consistently prioritised security through strategic collaboration with security agencies and continuous support for intelligence gathering and operational activities aimed at combating insecurity in the state.

He further stated that the governor’s outstanding performance in the area of security and governance has continued to earn him the admiration and confidence of the people, adding that Nigerians would greatly benefit from such exemplary leadership if given the opportunity to serve at the national level.

The chairman therefore called on the people of Oyo State to continue supporting Governor Makinde and his administration in order to sustain the developmental strides and security achievements recorded in the state over the years.

Hon. Oluokun also praised the tireless efforts and sacrifices of all security agencies involved in the rescue operation, acknowledging their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to safeguarding the lives of citizens.

He expressed joy over the safe return of the abducted pupils and teachers and prayed that God would continue to protect security operatives as they carry out their constitutional duties.

“On behalf of the government and people of Oyo East Local Government, I congratulate His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, the rescued victims, their families, and the entire people of Oyo State on this remarkable achievement,” the chairman stated.
