The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo, popularly known as RAD, has described the release of the abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area as a remarkable victory for Oyo State and a reflection of Governor Seyi Makinde’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property.
In a statement issued on Friday, RAD said the safe return of the victims marked the end of a painful chapter for their families and the state, noting that the development has restored hope and joy to residents who had anxiously awaited their freedom.
She commended Governor Makinde for providing leadership and support throughout the period of the victims’ captivity, saying his determination and steadfastness played a significant role in the process that culminated in their release.
”Today is indeed a day of celebration for the people of Oyo State. I congratulate our leader and father, Governor Seyi Makinde, whose commitment, resilience and unwavering support throughout this difficult period have once again demonstrated his love and concern for the people,” RAD said.
According to her, the governor never lost sight of the need to ensure the victims returned safely to their families, despite the enormous challenges surrounding the incident.
RAD also appreciated security agencies and every individual who contributed to the successful outcome, describing the release as a product of sustained collaboration and dedication by all those involved.
She said the development should strengthen the resolve of governments at all levels to intensify efforts at tackling insecurity, particularly attacks on schools and innocent citizens.
The governor’s aide urged residents to remain vigilant and continue partnering with security agencies by providing credible information that would help prevent crime and enhance the safety of communities across the state.
She further called on citizens to continue praying for the peace and progress of Oyo State, expressing confidence that the government would sustain ongoing efforts to improve security and protect lives.
RAD prayed for the speedy recovery of the released pupils and teachers from the trauma of their ordeal and expressed optimism that their freedom would inspire renewed hope and unity among the people of Oyo State.
