The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, has strongly condemned the alleged move to impeach Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, describing it as a desperate attempt by enemies of the state to destabilize the prevailing peace and progress.

In a statement issued to the press through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Akinwale Bodija, Oyekunle warned that those behind the purported impeachment plot would not succeed in causing mayhem or disrupting the stability that Oyo State has enjoyed over the past seven years.

The federal lawmaker noted that the Makinde-led administration has consistently delivered people-oriented policies and programmes, which have brought visible relief and development to residents across the state. According to him, the impact of the administration is evident and widely acknowledged by the populace.

Oyekunle further stated that the alleged impeachment attempt has clearly drawn a line between those who genuinely have the interest of Oyo State at heart and those who seek to plunge it into uncertainty for selfish gains.

“This administration has brought succour and smiles to the masses. Its achievements are not only visible but deeply felt by the people. Any attempt to truncate this progress is a disservice to the good people of Oyo State,” the statement read.

Reaffirming his unwavering loyalty, Oyekunle reiterated his full support for Governor Makinde and the Omituntun administration, stressing that the government remains focused on sustaining growth and development across all sectors.

He also called on residents of the state to remain calm, law-abiding, and steadfast in their support for the current administration, urging them to continue to pray for the governor and the peace of Oyo State.

The lawmaker expressed confidence that no amount of political scheming would derail the progress achieved so far, insisting that the collective will of the people would always prevail over acts capable of undermining the state’s stability.
