Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), the federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, in partnership with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has distributed food supplies to vulnerable residents across the 12 wards of the constituency as part of efforts to cushion the impact of economic hardship on the people.

The intervention, held at the Ibadan North Local Government Secretariat, brought together residents, beneficiaries, community groups, party leaders, stakeholders and other critical groups within the constituency.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Oyekunle said the initiative became necessary to ensure that vulnerable residents in his constituency benefit from the Federal Government’s food palliative intervention aimed at reducing the burden of the prevailing economic challenges.

The lawmaker expressed appreciation to NEMA for making the intervention possible, describing the agency’s support as a significant step towards reaching residents who require assistance the most.

He also thanked the people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency for their continued support and goodwill, noting that the distribution coincided with the month in which he was overwhelmingly elected to represent the constituency.

Oyekunle appealed to his constituents to sustain their support and expressed confidence in their continued partnership ahead of the 2027 general elections, while seeking their support for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

The federal lawmaker further appreciated the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his consistent support and leadership, assuring that he would continue to operate within the framework of the governor’s developmental legacies and people-oriented leadership.

The food palliatives were distributed across all 12 wards of Ibadan North Federal Constituency, with beneficiaries drawn from vulnerable residents, community groups, non-political organisations and other integral groups within the constituency.

The event was attended by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor, Hon. Kazeem Adeyinka Adeniyi Bibire; the lawmaker representing Ibadan North State Constituency II, Hon. Babajide Gabriel; the lawmaker representing Ibadan North State Constituency I, Hon. Olufunke Comforter; and the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, who was represented by his Chief of Staff.

Also present were party leaders, political stakeholders, community representatives, party faithful and beneficiaries, among others.
