The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Folajimi Oyekunle, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic killing of a govt school teacher abducted by suspected kidnappers in Oyo State, while extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the government of the state.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, the federal lawmaker described the unfortunate incident as painful, heartbreaking and a rude reminder of the security challenges confronting parts of the country.

Hon. Oyekunle sympathized with the affected families, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the irreparable loss, while also commending the swift response and commitment demonstrated by the Oyo State Government under the leadership of Seyi Makinde in addressing the situation.

He noted that the state government, alongside security agencies, has continued to intensify efforts toward ensuring the safe rescue of those still in captivity, expressing confidence that ongoing operations would yield positive results.

The lawmaker further lauded the coordination between security operatives and the state authorities, stating that the recent developments have shown the seriousness and determination of the government in combating insecurity and protecting the lives of residents across the state.

“While we mourn the life lost in this unfortunate incident, we must also appreciate the tireless efforts of the Oyo State Government and security agencies who have continued to work round the clock to secure the release of the remaining victims,” he said.

Hon. Oyekunle urged residents to remain calm, vigilant and supportive of security agencies by providing useful information that could aid ongoing rescue operations, adding that collective responsibility remains crucial in the fight against insecurity.

He reaffirmed his support for all initiatives aimed at strengthening security architecture within the state and assured constituents that leaders at all levels would continue to collaborate in safeguarding lives and property.
