The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) Candidate for Akinyele Constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olalere Solomon, popularly known as ERE, has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents by undertaking the dredging of the Seriki Okegbemi Olorisa Oko River in Ward 11, Akinyele Local Government.
The intervention, carried out as part of his continued community development efforts, was aimed at preventing flooding and safeguarding lives and property during the ongoing rainy season.
Although he is yet to assume public office, Hon. Olalere Solomon (ERE) has continued to distinguish himself through people-oriented initiatives and timely interventions that address the pressing needs of communities across Akinyele Constituency II.
Concerned by the increasing water level in the Olorisa Oko River whenever there is heavy rainfall, and the danger it poses to residents, ERE swiftly mobilised an excavator to dredge the river and clear blocked waterways.
The exercise is expected to ensure the free flow of water, reduce the risk of flooding, prevent possible displacement of residents, and guarantee unhindered movement within the community.
Residents described the intervention as timely and highly commendable, noting that it would significantly reduce the recurring flooding challenges experienced in the area during the rainy season.
Speaking on behalf of the community, leaders and residents of Seriki Okegbemi Olorisa Oko in Ward 11 expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Olalere Solomon (ERE) for responding promptly to their concerns.
They commended his consistent dedication to the well-being of the people of Akinyele Constituency II, describing him as a compassionate and responsive personality who has continued to deliver meaningful interventions despite not holding any elective office.
According to the community leaders, the dredging intervention will avert potential disasters, protect lives and property, and bring lasting relief to residents.
