The National Secretary of Accord, Adebukola Ajaja, has dismissed the governorship primary election allegedly held at A3 Hotel in Ibadan, insisting that no individual or group can organise another primary without the approval of the party leadership.

Speaking during an interview with broadcast journalist, Mayor Isaac Brown on Fresh FM, after the party’s primaries, Hon Ajaja stated that the officially recognised Accord governorship primary in Oyo State was the one conducted at the Ibadan Business School under the supervision of authorised party officials and electoral officers.

She dismissed claims that one of the aspirants, Kunle Busari, popularly known as Goodugoodu, was not cleared to participate in the exercise, describing the report as false and misleading.

According to her, Gudugudu Busari, retired Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni and Oriyomi Hamzat were all screened and duly cleared by the party to contest in the primary election.
Ajaja explained that the party opted for a direct primary because there were three cleared aspirants, making consensus or affirmation impossible.
She further clarified that the primary election took place across all local government areas in the state, including Saki and other parts of the Oke Ogun axis, adding that electoral officers from each local government were present at the Ibadan Business School venue for the collation of results.
The Accord National Secretary also denied knowledge of any returning officer allegedly sent from the national headquarters to supervise another primary election in Ibadan, maintaining that she did not authorise anyone to oversee such an exercise.
Ajaja urged party members and supporters to disregard reports of any parallel primary, stressing that only the process approved and supervised by the recognised leadership of the party remains valid and legitimate.
