The Oyo State Working Committee of Accord led by its Chairman, Prince Kolade Ojo, and the State Secretary, Hon. Olayinka Dairo, has congratulated the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general election, Hon. Kunle Busari, on his victory at the party’s governorship primary election.

The legally recognised Accord governorship primary was held at Ibadan Business School, Bodija, Ibadan, in a peaceful and orderly atmosphere citing the presence of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the venue.

The exercise was conducted in the presence of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies including the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Election and Party Monitoring (EPM) team led by Dr. Keshinro.

Also present were the Accord National Secretary, Hon. (Dr.) Adebukola Ajaja, alongside a large turnout of party members and stakeholders.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed in Ibadan by Prince Kolade Ojo and Hon. Olayinka Dairo on behalf of the ACCORD State Executive Committee and bona fide members of the party.
The party leadership described Busari’s emergence as “a triumph of the collective will over selfish and inordinate political ambition.”
According to the statement, the recognition accorded Hon. Kunle Busari by the electoral umpire validates the credibility of the exercise and clearly distinguishes it from what the party described as a “kangaroo arrangement.”
“We are using this medium to felicitate the authentic ACCORD governorship candidate. This is a victory for all members of the party,” the statement read.
The leadership further stressed that ACCORD remains committed to internal democracy, party supremacy, and the collective interest of members above personal considerations.
The executives also noted that the notion of sole candidacy is alien to the party’s democratic ideals, insisting that every aspirant must test his or her popularity before delegates in line with established political norms.
They expressed confidence that Hon. Kunle Busari’s name would appear on the official INEC list.
