The honour was bestowed by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, alongside the League of Imams and Alfas of Oyo State, in recognition of his enduring service to the nation and significant contributions to peace and security.
The religious leaders described the title as a confirmation of Owoseni’s exemplary leadership qualities, dedication to community development, and unwavering commitment to integrity and service, attributes that have defined his long career in public service.
CP Owoseni’s professional journey spanned over 35 years of distinguished service in the Nigeria Police Force, during which he rose through the ranks to attain the position of Commissioner of Police.
His career was marked by strategic postings and a reputation for discipline, operational competence and people-oriented policing.
Following his retirement from active service, he has remained a central figure in Oyo State’s governance and security framework.
He currently serves as Special Adviser on Security to Governor Seyi Makinde and Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund, positions that placed him at the heart of policy formulation and implementation on security matters in the state.
