    Oyo @50: Alaafin Shuns Opening Ceremony In Ibadan

    The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, was conspicuously absent from the opening ceremony of Oyo State at 50, which was held on Monday at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

    At the event, Governor Seyi Makinde address the people  while the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Edward Ogundoyin, gave a goodwill message.

    NewsBreakNaija recalls that the military government of the late General Murtala Mohammed, created Oyo State on February 3, 1976.

    The event was attended by the Chairman Oyo Council of Obas and chiefs, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja and other traditional rulers.

    The Alaafin of Oyo has eaelier shunned the inauguration of the Oyo State Council of Obas and chiefs by Governor Seyi Makinde where the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja was pronounced as the Chairman of the council.
